How to import your portfolio to the portfolio manager
If you already have a portfolio that you would like to upload to the portfolio manager, you can upload it using the ‘Import’ function.
Step 1 - Create a blank Portfolio
If you don't do this your trades will append to viewed portfolio. Then create a .CSV formatted Microsoft Excel portfolio that includes the below information and columns:
Configure your CSV file prior to importing. Ensure you have columns showing the asset,
quantity purchased, trade type, trade date, price trade and commission.
Step 2 - Open the portfolio manager and create a new empty portfolio.
Importing a CSV file from your hard-drive.
Every time you enter the portfolio manager you will be given the option to open and create a new portfolio.
Create new as per the instructions at the start of this document. Once created, open that empty portfolio
(your positions and transactions should be empty). Then:
1. Choose the import button
2. Confirm the import requirements
3. Choose the .CSV portfolio you want to import
Step 3 - Follow the instructions from the Import Wizard
Assign each column accordingly.
After ensuring your file is in CSV format the Wizard will assign each variable to a given column.
Once all columns are assigned the final setp is to Configure and Edit. Rows with incorrect data or
stocks which are not available in our database will highlight in red. You can manually edit entries
by selecting a cell and changing the values - although missing stocks are unlikely to be recoverable.
Rows which can't be imported can be unchecked.
Untick red-highlighted rows as these represent rows which either
have no data or unsupported data, including stocks unavailabe
in our database.
The final step will then import your Portfolio and load the transactions into your Portfolio
Public Strategy Portfolio
Give your Public Strategy a name, set a subscription charge, then Create.
If you are looking to build your own fund to attract paying subscribers then create a Public Strategy.
With a Public Strategy you create Signals in place of Trades. Signals are sent via email to your
Subscribers and trades are logged into your Portfolio.
When a public portfolio is loaded the header menu will show a Create Signal button, including options
to study graphical performance and copy positions, transaction or signals.
Menu options for a Public Strategy Portfolio, also known as a Managed Strategy
Create a Trade Signal anytime - outside or during market hours.
Set up conditional orders too
The next step is to enter a trade signal. This can be done from the Create Signal button.
There are three types of trade signals available: during market hours, outside market hours and a conditional order.
Enter a trade signal with the requisite asset symbol - stock, forex or
commodity - target, stop and quantity (shares). You can add Signal Info
should you wish too.
All trade signals require an asset (stock, commodity or currency pair), a quantity (shares), a stop and a target.
Without these four minimum criteria an order won't be accepted. You can also attach a comment through Signal Info.
All trade signals created are logged and trades executed accordingly.
When a trade signal is entered it is logged to your Signals and processed as a transaction when the condition of the signal is true.
Your Public Strategy Portfolio will appear listed in your Home page and will be available in the MarketPlace for subscribers to find and purchase.
By sharing your Home Page link with friends, clients and colleagues - or on your Facebook and Twitter page -
you can attract subscribers and earn revenue in a share with Zignals.
